Students Piano Concerts

All Saints Church
All Saints Church

Students Piano Concerts are held three times a year for ALL students, whatever their standard.  They are designed to replace formal exams with an opportunity to perform in front of a live audience . They are held at the beautiful All Saints Church in Weston-super-Mare.

Experiencing live performance, dealing with nerves and getting a piece of music “match fit!” will enhance your playing and confidence. The evening is about having a go and supporting others, no matter what your standard of playing is.

All students are encouraged to go “outside their comfort zones and challenge themselves.” Friends and family are actively encouraged to attend.

Piano Concerts

Student Piano Concerts are held three times a year. Tea and cakes are provided in the interval of the Spring and Summer Concert, The Christmas Concert is held by candlelight with mulled wine and mince pies served in the interval.

Running Order

All three piano concerts are held on a Sunday evening at All Saints Church. They start at 6pm with a group photo of all the performers.
When it is their turn to perform, each student is invited to the front. They then introduce themselves and their chosen pieces. This gives the individual an opportunity to practice public speaking. According to their standard, students  can choose to play either one long piece or two short pieces. Refreshments are served half way through. Fun mini cups are awarded at the end of each concert. The four categories are:

  • Most emotional performance
  • Most accurate performance
  • Most challenging performance
  • Best speaker
