Real Piano Player tutor books are the definitive guide to playing the piano AND reading music. Books One to Five contain 32 pieces of music. In Book Six there are 16 longer more challenging pieces. The books are available as digital downloads
in PDF format from the shop. Each book comes with an mp3 recording of all 32 pieces and is priced at £6.95.

Book One is aimed at the total beginner. It covers the 5 notes above and below Middle C. The right and left hand notes are written in separate staves from Piece 1 onwards. By Piece 32 you will be playing the black keys, and using all 10 fingers.
Book Two introduces 2 new hand positions. The hands play one octave apart in the keys of C major and F major. Chords, scales and key signatures are introduced. 3 quizzes are provided to test your understanding of music theory.
In Book Three you will be playing in the keys of G major and D major. Italian terms for dynamics (loud and quiet) and tempo markings (speed) are indicated. A jazzy rhythm called syncopation is introduced in Piece 30 .
Book Four uses the 4 keys covered in Books Two and Three. These are C, F, G and D major. The 6/8 time signature and chord inversions are introduced. Book Four ends with dances and songs from around the world.
Book Five takes you deeper into the world of keys. Discover the mathematical relationship between the major keys and their relative minor. Quick semiquaver rhythms and the damper pedal are introduced in Book Five.
In Book Six there are 16 longer and more challenging piano pieces. Each piece, from Moonlight Sonata to Bach’s Prelude in C Minor, is placed in the book according to its position in the Circle of Fifths. This is the final book in the series.
